Eoin is a Neuroscience graduate of Trinity College Dublin and is currently working as a Research Assistant on Electro:HD, a project funded by the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. The project focuses on recruiting individuals with premanifest Huntington’s disease and gene-negative relatives to identify early neural biomarkers using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and electroencephalography (EEG).
This work builds directly on Eoin’s undergraduate capstone project, which investigated dorsal premotor cortex target accuracy using neuronavigation-guided TMS. In 2023, he was awarded the Laidlaw Scholarship, which funded his summer research examining astrocyte senescence markers in Alzheimer’s disease.
He is also deeply interested in science communication and is motivated to bridge the gap between scientific research and public understanding. Beyond academia, Eoin has a strong interest in music and has previously contributed to community outreach initiatives, including a six-week volunteering project in Perth expanding services at the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre.
